Ask the Planner: Your Wedding Questions, Answered
Planning a wedding can be equal parts exciting and overwhelming—and if you're anything like most couples, you’ve probably found yourself Googling questions at 1am while lying in bed. Trust us, we get it.
That’s exactly why we’re launching Ask the Planner—a place where we answer real questions from couples planning weddings at Takk House and beyond. Whether you’re wondering when to send invites or how to make a small wedding feel just as special, we’ve got your back.
Here are a few of the most common questions we hear (and our honest answers):
Q: “Do I really need a wedding planner if I’m having a small or hourly rental wedding?”
A: Yes. A million times yes. Even the most laid-back, minimalist weddings need a point person on the day-of. Why? Because we want you (and your loved ones!) to actually enjoy the day instead of running around wrangling vendors, setting up chairs, or finding the missing champagne glasses.
Q: “What’s the difference between an elopement and a micro wedding?”
A: Great question! An elopement is usually just the couple—sometimes with a witness or two—focusing solely on the ceremony. Our Golden Hour Elopement Days are designed for this style: short, sweet, and beautifully curated. A micro wedding, on the other hand, typically includes a small guest list (think 10–30 people) and may have a reception component. Both are intentional and lovely—just depends on your vibe.
Q: “Can I bring my own vendors to Takk House?”
A: Yes! Our space is designed to be flexible. While we offer in-house food and drink for full-service weddings, our hourly and elopement packages are more open. Bring your favorite florist or officiant—we love meeting new creatives. (That said, we’re always happy to make recommendations if you’re stuck and we do have approved catering vendors.)
Q: “What’s one thing couples often forget until it’s too late?”
A: To slow down. The day goes by in a blink, and it’s easy to get swept up in logistics and timelines. Plan a few intentional pauses—just the two of you. Step outside for a breath of fresh air, soak it in, take mental pictures. Those small, quiet moments often end up being the most memorable.
Q: “How far in advance should we book?”
A: For full weddings, we recommend 12–18 months in advance—especially for peak season weekends. But our Golden Hour Elopement Days are designed for shorter timelines. If you're eloping this year, you're right on time. As of now, we still have a few spots left for August and November 2025.
